The Honourable Minister of Education extends a cordial invitation to interested and qualified Nigerians to partake in the 2023/2024 Nomination Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Federal Government Scholarship Award.

This initiative, overseen by the Federal Scholarship Board (FSB), aims to ensure that deserving Nigerian scholars are awarded both foreign and local scholarships, thereby fulfilling commitments to various educational agreements.

The Federal Government Scholarship Award offers a remarkable opportunity for Nigerian students to pursue their educational aspirations without financial constraints.

By adhering to the application process and meeting the specified criteria, eligible candidates can avail themselves of this prestigious scholarship and advance their academic pursuits.

FSB Tertiary Scholarship Awards Details

  • Application Deadline: May 13, 2024

Benefits of FSB Tertiary Scholarship Awards

The scholarship is tenable in Nigeria and covers various amounts depending on the level of study:

  • Undergraduate Scholars: N250,000 per annum
  • Postgraduate Scholars: N300,000 per annum
  • HND: N150,000 per annum
  • NCE: N150,000 per annum

Requirements for FSB Tertiary Scholarship Awards

To be eligible for the undergraduate and postgraduate Federal Government Scholarship Award, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Applicants for Postgraduate studies should possess a minimum of a first degree with Second Class Honours in the Upper Division. Applicants must be registered Full-Time students of Federal or State Universities.
  • All other applicants (UG, HND & NCE) must be registered full-time students in their second year or above, in Federal or State Universities, Polytechnics, Monotechnics, or Colleges of Education.
  • All undergraduate Scholarship applicants including Persons with disabilities must have at least a 4.0 Cumulative Grade Points Aggregate (CGPA) on a five (5) point scale or 5.0 on a 7 point scale or its equivalent.
  • All NCE and HND applicants must have a CGPA of 3.5 and above on a scale of 4.0.

  • Letter of Admission to the Institution
  • State of Origin Certificate
  • National Identity Number
  • CGPA Result (Academic Transcript)

Application Deadline

The deadline for application submission is May 13, 2024.

Interested and qualified candidates can apply by visiting the Federal Ministry of Education’s website and clicking on the Federal Scholarship Board ICON on the Home Page.

Applicants are advised to carefully read the guidelines, complete the Application Form online, and print the completed Form.
