The death of Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, the founder and CEO of the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA), has prompted a response from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Goldennewsng reports that he said that her death shocked him.
The speaker said that one of the best and most dedicated members of the Nigerian and African film industries has passed away.
Gbajabiamila recalled that Anyiam-Osigwe had a positive impact on many lives during her lifetime by utilizing her continent-wide network of friends and associates.
The Speaker said that the late AMAA founder would be remembered for her humanitarian work and positive influence on the industry in a statement that was released by Lanre Lasisi, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
Gbajabiamila prayed to the all-powerful God for eternal rest and strength for her loved ones to bear the loss.
