FG Will Be In An Emergency Meeting With ASUU Over the Proposed Strike.

GoldenNewsNg reports that the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, on Monday invited the Academic Staff Union of Universities to an emergency meeting following their threat to embark on another strike.

The meeting will be held at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday at 11:00 am.

The development was disclosed in a statement released by the Director Press and Public Relations, Ben. Bem Goong.

The Minister why explaining the reason for the emergency meeting, said the meeting is intended to halt the planned strike.

It will be recalled that ASUU has issued a notice of strike following the refusal of Government to implement some of the agreements entered into between the union and the Federal Government.

In another development, the Kaduna State Government has confirmed the release of five of the 39 kidnapped students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka, Kaduna State.

In a statement on Monday released by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, the five students regained their freedom after 25 days in captivity.
