FG React to #IgboMustGo Proposed Protest In Lagos

The Presidency has criticized those behind the planned #IgboMustGo protests in Lagos and other Southwest states.

O’tega Ogra, President Bola Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on New and Digital Media, stated that individuals calling for protests against Ndigbo and inciting ethnic tensions in the country are diseases and threats to society.

He emphasized that Nigerians, regardless of ethnic or religious affiliation, are together and one, as stated in the constitution. He urged security services to take action against individuals who issued the appeal.

“It is my firm and personal view that anyone who attempts to incite ethnic or religious tensions in Nigeria, under any pretense or for any cause, is a disease and a threat to society, and should be prosecuted under the law. This action is incredibly risky and dangerous in a country with over 350 ethnic ethnicities and a wide range of religious views.

“Nigeria is a unified nation regulated by constitutional law. When we succeed, we do it together as Nigerians. “When evil strikes, it affects all of us, regardless of ethnic, religious, or regional origins,” Ogra remarked on Friday.

President Tinubu’s New Media assistant urged Nigerians to make it a duty to report all bigots who promote ethnic hatred.

He stated that the President will not tolerate any form of bigotry and urged Nigerians to band together to combat hate preachers across ethnic and religious lines.

“I implore and urge all patriotic Nigerians to report any cases of prejudice and incendiary remarks, whether online or offline, to the proper law enforcement agencies. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a President and Leader for All Nigerians, as he has repeatedly declared, and he does not tolerate any type of discrimination.

“To my fellow young Nigerians, please do not be deceived by those who have failed and are now attempting to lead you wrong by casting stones at your fellow Nigerians on the basis of ethnic or religious differences.

“They sit comfortably in their houses, hiding behind their evil demeanor, while using underhanded ways to force you to do their bidding. Do not let anyone poison your minds against your fellow Nigerians, regardless of your/their political beliefs.

“I therefore call on all patriotic, young Nigerians of good conscience to condemn this behavior, no matter which political or rejoice affiliation we belong to,” Ogra wrote in an email.
