FG Rolls out N50,000 Monthly support for Nigeria youths
The Federal Government, through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has officially commenced the disbursement of N50,000 monthly stipends to 10,000 selected youth under its Youth Internship Scheme.
Over 3.2 Million Applicants—10,000 Selected
According to Mrs. Seledi-Thompson-Wakama, Director of Corporate Affairs at NDDC, the program attracted an overwhelming 3.2 million applicants, out of which 10,000 were selected for the training scheme. The rigorous selection process ensured that the chosen participants met the necessary qualifications and aligned with the program’s objectives.
“The selected trainees will undergo a one-year, hands-on training designed to develop their skills in various sectors, preparing them for future employment and entrepreneurship opportunities,” Thompson-Wakama stated.
She emphasized the partnership with KPMG, which has delivered a Governance Advisory Report aimed at improving corporate governance and guiding the NDDC’s transition to a transformation-focused approach.
The director expressed gratitude to the youth for their patience during the selection process.
