FG Set to Empower Youth with CEYI Waste-to-Wealth and Eco-Startup Training
GoldenNewsNg reports that Minister for Youth Development Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele has inaugurated the planning committee for the Circular Economy Youth Capacity Building Initiative (CEYI), aiming to boost youth empowerment and climate action. The initiative is a partnership between the Ministry of Youth Development, SAMU Technology Limited, and the Recyclers Association of Nigeria (RAN).
According to the Minister, “This initiative is a strategic step to provide Nigerian youth, especially those in the informal sector, with real-world skills and tools to transform waste into useful and marketable products.”
The CEYI program is designed to promote sustainable waste management by training millions of young Nigerians in areas like recycling, waste-to-wealth processes, and green entrepreneurship.
The aim is to tackle unemployment by empowering youth to turn environmental problems into economic opportunities.
“Our objective is to harness the energy and innovation of our youth to address pressing environmental challenges while unlocking new economic opportunities,” Ayodele added.
The initiative supports Nigeria’s national goals on climate resilience and sustainable development. By focusing on the circular economy, CEYI intends to raise a new generation of eco-smart entrepreneurs who can create value while protecting the environment.
