5 phones with sharp cameras outside Iphone, Samsung

Forget iPhone and Samsung These 5 Phones Have Killer Cameras Too

Let’s be honest: whenever someone talks about phones with amazing cameras, the usual suspects pop up, iPhone this, Samsung that. But what if I told you there are other brands out there quietly delivering mind-blowing camera performance without all the hype?

Whether you’re snapping sunset selfies, recording content for Instagram, or just want pictures that don’t look like they came from a potato, these five phones have powerful camera systems that can give the big names a run for their money.

Let’s get into the best camera phones in 2025 that aren’t iPhones or Samsungs and why they deserve a spot in your pocket.

1. Google Pixel 9 Pro – The Smart Photographer’s Choice

Google Pixel 9 Pro

If there’s one phone that understands photography better than most humans, it’s the Google Pixel 9 Pro. Seriously, even if you know nothing about camera settings, this phone makes you feel like a pro.

With its 50MP main camera, Google packs in what it does best: AI-powered image processing. Night photos? Crystal clear. Portraits? Studio-quality. Landscapes? Sharp and vivid.

What makes it even cooler is the telephoto lens that’s perfect for zooming in without losing detail. Whether you’re capturing a birthday party or a quiet evening skyline, the Pixel 9 Pro handles it all effortlessly.

2. Xiaomi 13 Pro – Leica Magic in Your Hands

Now, if you love rich colours and stylish detail, the Xiaomi 13 Pro is a serious contender. Its camera is powered by Leica optics, and trust me, that’s not just a fancy name-drop; it delivers.

Armed with a 50MP main sensor and a 3.2x optical zoom telephoto lens, the Xiaomi 13 Pro nails long-range shots and close-ups equally well. What stands out is the bokeh effect in portrait mode. It’s like having a DSLR in your pocket but way lighter.

Whether you’re shooting in bright daylight or during candle-lit dinners, the results are always vibrant and cinematic.

3. OnePlus 11 – Perfect Colours, No Fuss

The OnePlus 11 is for anyone who loves clean, natural-looking photos without spending time fiddling with settings. The 50MP main sensor, co-developed with Hasselblad, makes sure every shot feels like what your eyes actually saw.

Want to zoom in without losing sharpness? The 32MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom has you covered. There’s also a wide-angle camera that’s great for group selfies or wide scenic shots.

OnePlus has done an excellent job keeping things intuitive, you get pro-grade shots without needing pro-level skills.

4. Sony Xperia 1 V – For Creators Who Like Control

If you’re someone who prefers to be behind the camera, making artistic decisions, then the Sony Xperia 1 V might just become your new best friend.

Unlike most smartphones, this one gives you a variable aperture on its 48MP main lens. That means you can control how much light enters the sensor — just like a real camera.

Plus, the phone features both ultra-wide and telephoto lenses, each at 12MP, delivering an impressive range and dynamic clarity. It’s basically a mini professional camera with phone capabilities — ideal for content creators, vloggers, or anyone who takes mobile photography seriously.

5. Oppo Find X6 Pro – All the Angles Covered

The Oppo Find X6 Pro is like the Swiss Army knife of smartphone cameras. It doesn’t just come with one good lens—it gives you three 50MP cameras: a main, an ultra-wide, and a periscope telephoto for when you want to zoom without getting blurry.

The 3x optical zoom is a game-changer for travel photography or concert shots. From vast landscapes to close-up portraits, the Oppo Find X6 Pro handles it all with grace.

Plus, its image processing is top-notch, producing vibrant colours and excellent detail, even in low-light situations.

These Camera Phones Deserve More Hype

You don’t need to empty your wallet on an iPhone 15 Pro Max or Galaxy S24 Ultra to get amazing photos. These phones prove that smart photography is no longer tied to big-brand status.

Whether you’re into point-and-shoot convenience or full creative control, there’s something here for every kind of phone photographer.

So next time you’re shopping for a new smartphone with a powerful camera, don’t overlook these Phones listed above they might just surprise you.

Yes, most of these phones — especially Google Pixel, Xiaomi, and OnePlus — are available in Nigeria through online retailers like Jumia, Slot, or via direct import.

Absolutely! All five phones listed support 4K video, and some even support 8K recording, especially the Xperia 1 V and Oppo Find X6 Pro.

Man Arrested After Disguising as Dispatch Rider to Murder Ex-Girlfriend in Lagos

Residents of a Lagos estate were left in shock on Thursday night after a young woman, Deborah Porsche, popularly known as Debporsche, was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend, identified simply as Lintex, nearly a year after their breakup. According to reports, Lintex had repeatedly threatened Deborah since their split in August 2024, allegedly vowing: “If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I no marry you, blood go flow.” Deborah’s sister described her as a hardworking interior decorator who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). She further alleged that the deceased endured emotional abuse throughout her relationship with Lintex, which ultimately pushed her to walk away. On the night of the attack, the suspect disguised himself as a dispatch rider in an attempt to infiltrate the estate. Security guards reportedly stopped him at the gate, but he scaled the fence and gained entry to Deborah’s apartment. Eyewitnesses said Lintex first tampered with the gas cylinder line outside the apartment, allegedly trying to cause an explosion. When that failed, he forced his way inside and stabbed Deborah multiple times with a knife he brought along. Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene and alerted the police. The suspect was subdued and handed over to law enforcement officers. Police authorities have confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing. Deborah’s tragic death has sparked outrage online and renewed calls for stronger legal protections for women against abusive and obsessive partners.
