The Footballing great who many regard as the greatest of all time was said to have suffered a cardiac arrest in his home at Argentina on Wednesday, Diego Maradona underwent a surgery in early November but yesterday the news got around that the footballing great has gone to rest.
Diego Maradona won the 1986 World Cup beating West Germany in the Final , a tournament where he did his famous Iconic “Hand of God” Goal against the English, he also wowed spectators in the Quarter Final against England where he went past many players and rounded up Peter Shilton who was in England’s goal to give Argentina the win, a goal that was voted as the “Goal of the century”.
He also won the Serie A with Napoli after leaving Barcelona for Naples where he is idolized after guiding the club to his first ever Serie A title which he won again the following year doing it back to back, he also won them the UEFA CUP.
He was born in Lañus, Buenos Aires in his native Argentina and died in Tigre, Buenos Aires in Argentina.
Many in his home country and many of the older generation see him as a greater player to Lionel Messi.
He would never be forgotten for his artistry on the field of play.
