All is set for the defection of Honourable Funmilayo Olasehinde-Mustapha from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC) with her other 5,000 supporter-members of the party from no fewer than 10 local government council areas in the state.

It would be recalled that Hon. Olasehinde-Mustapha, who was the Executive Chairman of Ifedayo Local Government Area, former state Assembly member, ex-Special Adviser to former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former PDP state organizing secretary and ex-member, Osun PDP Elders’ Caucus, formally resigned her membership of the PDP about a fortnight ago.

Prince Gboyega Famodun, led State caretaker, executive members of the APC have been working round the clock for the actualization of the event slated for The Freedom Park in Osogbo, the state capital, beginning from 12 noon.

A peep into the arrangement showed that the occasion is going to be a mother of all events as the PDP decampees are coming from across the state.

Commenting on the proposed event, the state Caretaker Public Relations Officer of the APC, Comrade Wole Adunola, stated that the defection of Hon Olasehinde-Mustapha and his supporters would definitely add a monumental positive value to the progressive party across the state.

Adunola disclosed that though a woman but the PDP principal decampee is a political big fish in the state whose exit from the PDP would be a very wide gap that would be very difficult to fill.

The APC PRO enjoined all the members of the APC in the state to troop out in large numbers with a view to identifying with the coming into the APC of the former political ally of former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

In Adunola’s words: “What’s happening in our party tomorrow is an harvest of PDP decampees which is a plus to our party.

“The loss of the PDP is becoming our gain as we shall take the advantage of the over 5000 PDP decampees that would be following Hon Olasehinde-Mustapha into our party to make a statement.

“I could see that so many PDP leaders and members in the state were jittery when the political Amazon disclosed her intention to quit the reactionary party recently,” the state APC PRO said.

A check indicated that the defecting PDP members following Olasehinde-Mustapha to the APC are from 10 local government council areas of the state namely: Oriade, Ife-East, Ife-Central, Ife-North, Ife-South, Area Office, Ifelodun, Egbedore, Ifedayo and Ila
