Can You Teach Students Your Skill? Get Paid to Train Under FG TVET Program – See How to Register & Full Requirements

Do you have a skill you can confidently teach others, like fashion design, barbing, hairdressing, baking, plumbing, tech, or tailoring? The Federal Government of Nigeria is calling on skilled professionals like you to train young Nigerians through the FG TVET Program and get paid for it!

This initiative by the Federal Ministry of Education, in partnership with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), is focused on empowering Nigerian youths with practical skills while rewarding experienced trainers like you.

Who Can Apply to Train Students Under FG TVET?

You can apply as any of the following:

  • Vocational Enterprise Institution (VEI) – Accredited training centres registered with CAC

  • Skill Training Centre (STC) – Workshops, studios, or learning hubs led by certified professionals

  • MasterCraft Person (MCP) – Skilled artisans or professionals, even without a formal centre

Whether you operate from a structured institution or your workshop, as long as you can transfer valuable skills, you’re eligible to apply.

What Do Trainers Gain?

As a registered trainer under the FG TVET program:

  • You earn ₦30,000 per student monthly as training support

  • Your students get ₦22,500 stipends and starter packs after completing their training

  • You gain official recognition and accreditation by the NBTE

  • You play a key role in shaping the next generation of skilled workers in Nigeria

 

Requirements for Registration & Accreditation

1. For Vocational Enterprise Institutions (VEIs)

To be accredited as a VEI with NBTE, you must meet the following:

  • Proof of CAC Registration

  • Use of NSQ-Based Curricula

  • At least one qualified instructor per trade, with a ratio of 1 instructor to 40 students

  • One Quality Assurance Assessor (QAA) per trade

  • One Internal Quality Assurance Manager (IQAM) assigned to the centre (can be part-time)

  • Availability of infrastructure: workshops, studios, classrooms, offices, and restrooms

  • Documented training experience, including past programs, levels taught, and certificates issued

2. For Skill Training Centres (STCs)

If you’re running a training centre or studio, here’s what’s needed:

  • CAC registration

  • Adoption of NSQ-Based Curricula

  • At least one experienced senior artisan/instructor per program with NSQ Level 3 or above

  • One QAA per trade and one IQAM (can be part-time)

  • Adequate technical and support staff

  • Provision of essential facilities: workshops, field training areas, offices, and restrooms

  • Records of past training programs and certifications awarded

 

3. For MasterCraft Persons (MCPs)

Even if you don’t run a big training centre, you can still get accredited as a MasterCraft Person. Here’s what you need:

  • Either CAC Registration or a National Identification Number (NIN)

  • Use of NSQ-Based Curricula

  • Must be a qualified/experienced senior artisan with NSQ Level 3 minimum

  • Maintain a ratio of one junior artisan per five trainees

  • Must have basic training facilities like a workshop and restrooms

  • Provide records of past training and certification activities

  • Auto Mechanics

  • Baking and Catering

  • Phone Repairs

  • Solar Installation

  • Carpentry
