Gospel Singer Timileyin Ajayi Confesses to Killing Girlfriend Salome Adaidu in Nasarawa

Recall, Orozo in Nasarawa State was thrown into shock after Timileyin Ajayi, a locally known gospel singer, was caught with the severed head of his alleged girlfriend, Salome Adaidu. The gruesome incident, which occurred on Sunday, January 12, 2025, has raised serious questions about what led to such a horrific act.

How the Incident Unfolded

Churchgoers in Orozo apprehended Ajayi after noticing his suspicious behavior near a river. Caleb Umaru, the Bible study teacher of the church, explained that Ajayi was seen throwing a polybag into the river. Upon retrieval, the bag was found to contain the severed head of Salome, a 24-year-old woman.

According to reports, Ajayi, 32, invited Salome to his house on Saturday, January 11, under the pretext of a regular visit. However, during a press interview with Africa Independent Television (AIT), he shockingly confessed that the killing was a premeditated act intended to “break off” their one-year relationship.

Timileyin Ajayi’s Chilling Confession

In a mixture of English and Pidgin, Ajayi provided a detailed account of the events leading to the murder:

“That day, I invited her to my house. She was asking me for transport, and I told her I didn’t have money. She still came. When she arrived, she asked for N3,000. I told her I didn’t have it; I was only managing myself.”

Ajayi said he noticed Salome’s increasing discomfort due to hunger. He prepared noodles for her before luring her to the bathroom, where he brutally killed her.

Community Reaction

The discovery left the community in shock, with many questioning how someone known for singing gospel songs could commit such a heinous act. Ajayi’s actions have sparked outrage and disbelief, particularly among his church members.

Timileyin Ajayi’s Motivational Video Resurfaces

In a twist of irony, an old motivational video of Ajayi recently resurfaced online. In the clip, he urged his fans not to let “village people” or any spiritual power hinder their progress. This video has only added to the public’s bewilderment over his actions.
