Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has wished President Muhammad Buhari a happy 80th birthday.
Goldennewsng reports that Ortom praised President Buhari in a message of goodwill for his steadfastness and indomitable spirit in upholding the nation’s ideals.
While urging President Buhari to maintain the openness that has become his signature style throughout the years, he also urged him to ensure that he leaves the country to the next administration unaffected by the current threats to national security.
“We are not yet there. However, the President has reassured us that he will hand over a nation that will be free of current polarization and insecurity. We need to unite once more, not along racial or religious lines, but rather along the nationalistic ideals that unite us.
The Governor stated that this will serve as the necessary compass to guide the younger generation toward morality and optimism for a better nation.
He also said that the president needs to keep promoting the qualities of honesty, fairness, transparency, equity, and justice as a way to bring peace and unity to the country.
In the years to come, President Buhari is wished good health, peace, and wisdom by Ortom.
