The 3MTT Nigeria management has opened applications for the Cohort 2 “Tech 4 Good” Hackathon, offering 3MTT fellows an opportunity to win a grand prize of ₦500,000. This hackathon invites fellows to tackle key social issues, presenting innovative tech solutions that target challenges in education, health, and financial inclusion. Top teams will also have the chance to pitch their solutions at in-person summits held in their respective states.

About the 3MTT Tech 4 Good Hackathon

The hackathon is part of 3MTT’s ongoing commitment to foster innovation among its fellows, encouraging the development of solutions that address significant social issues. This event is exclusively open to 3MTT Cohort 2 fellows, enabling them to showcase their ideas and work towards tangible social impact.

Participation Guidelines

To be eligible and maximize your success in the hackathon, follow these important guidelines:

  1. Eligibility: Only 3MTT Cohort 2 fellows may participate. It is essential that each participant’s information aligns with 3MTT records for accurate verification.
  2. Team Composition: Teams must consist of 2-3 members. Each team member must submit accurate registration details in line with 3MTT requirements.
  3. Submission Deadline: All project submissions are due by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. It’s crucial to adhere to this timeline to ensure eligibility.
  4. Pitch Opportunity: The top 5 teams in each state will be invited to pitch their solutions at their State Impact Summit, where they will present their work to a panel of judges for a chance to secure the grand prize.

Important Dates to Remember

  • Application Opens: Thursday, November 7, 2024
  • Hacking & Submission Deadline: Wednesday, November 20, 2024
  • Top 5 Finalists Announced per State: Friday, November 22, 2024
  • Pitch Days: Between November 23 and December 8, 2024 (Dates may vary by state)

  3. Refine Your Pitch: Winning teams will be those who not only present an innovative solution but can also communicate their idea compellingly to judges. Practicing a concise, persuasive pitch will be key.
  4. Meet Deadlines: With strict timelines, ensure you have a solid project plan and adhere to all submission dates to avoid disqualification.
