The Special Assistant to the President Muhammadu Buhari on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad, has called out the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, stating that his donation to the flood victims in Bayelsa state is not acceptable.
GoldenNewsNg reports that Recall that the former Anambra governor visited Bayelsa state on Saturday to commiserate with the victims of the flood-affected areas in the state, donating a couple of food items and other things.
However, Ahmad in a series of tweets via his official Twitter page on Sunday expressed that a presidential candidate donating a grinding machine, four bags of rice, 14 cartons of indomie noodles, and 24 loaves of bread to thousands of flood victims is not befitting.
He wrote, “Wow. Four bags of rice, 14 cartons of indomie noodles, around 50 set of blankets, 24 loaves of bread, a generator among other unverified stuff donated to thousands of families affected by floods in Anambra by a former governor of the state and a current presidential candidate.
“A former governor and presidential candidate donating a grinding machine and 24 loaves of bread to thousands of flood victims, Comrade, we are in 2022 for God’s sake. We urge you to respect your family and correct it.”
He further wrote, “That is what I am already doing, Gesare, you can see I am urging the former Governor of Anambra State to do more for his people. The State helped him to become a billionaire, and now in their time of need he is busy donating a grinding machine and loaves of bread. Unacceptable!
“I am not a billionaire neither a former chairman of my local government, but I am doing more for my community in their time of need, than that former governor and presidential candidate. You can ‘Go and VERIFY’.”
