Comrade Jonathan Vatsa
…Says Buhari’s Body language fueling tension across Nigeria
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Jonathan Tsado Vatsaormer has disclosed that the incessant insecurity challenges faced by the country is a bad advertisement for the APC led government.
Vatsa, a former Publicity Secretary of the APC in Niger state as part of activities to mark his 60th birthday made the appeal shortly after visiting the orphanage homes and Internally Displaced People’s (IDPs) Camps in Minna, adding that “President Muhammadu Buhari’s body language, the high level of injustice and marginalization in the system are responsible for the current tension in the country, especially in South East and South West.
“Honestly, the growing level of insecurity in the country, occasioned by the activities of armed bandits especially in the north is a bad advertisement for the APC government which I am part of, I don’t know what we will tell Nigerians in 2023.
“In addition to the growing Insecurity, there is serious hunger in the land which is also fueling the insecurity. The government should be concerned about this so that the situation will not get to a point of no return.”.
Furthermore, he said “I decided to mark my 60th birthday today in a low key because as a father, my heart bleeds when I remember the 136 school children ages between 4 and 10 who are still being held captive for almost three weeks now by their abductors.
“My visit to the orphanage homes and internally displaced persons (IDPs) camp today is to encourage them to be strong, and to let them know that their current predicament is a matter of time”.
The former Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism on Monday appealed to President Buhari to change his body language in order to reduce the growing tension across the country.
Accordingly, he said “we all know why we are having the current tension across the country but nobody wants to say the truth. Mr. President should change his body language because there is anger over certain actions and pronouncements”.
He pointed out that the current agitations from the South East and the South West for secession are reactions to “high level of injustice and marginalization in the system”.
“Those spearheading the campaign for secession have no pedigree or capacity to speak for their regions but they are commanding followership because the people are feeling cheated, marginalized and unsafe in their own country”.
Vatsa who is the Coordinator Public Affairs to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger state believed that APC manifestos is so rich and excellent enough to take the country to the next level but expressed regret that individual ambition overrode  the Party’s agenda.
“We are now so concerned about Grazing routes and RUGA, and very lately construction of rail line to neighboring country, Niger whereby employment generating projects like the Baro ports and the Baro rail line have become abandoned projects.
“Is it because Mr. President has no cousins and uncles from Niger state that Baro Port and the rail line projects are being abandoned, and nothing is being done to revive the rail line from Ilorin-Minna-Kaduna-Kano?
“Before we talk about Grazing routes, let the government recover all the ranches across the northern Nigeria that have been sold to politicians in the country first. We need those ranches back as a starting point instead of causing confusion over Grazing routes”, he said.

Man Arrested After Disguising as Dispatch Rider to Murder Ex-Girlfriend in Lagos

Residents of a Lagos estate were left in shock on Thursday night after a young woman, Deborah Porsche, popularly known as Debporsche, was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend, identified simply as Lintex, nearly a year after their breakup. According to reports, Lintex had repeatedly threatened Deborah since their split in August 2024, allegedly vowing: “If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I no marry you, blood go flow.” Deborah’s sister described her as a hardworking interior decorator who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). She further alleged that the deceased endured emotional abuse throughout her relationship with Lintex, which ultimately pushed her to walk away. On the night of the attack, the suspect disguised himself as a dispatch rider in an attempt to infiltrate the estate. Security guards reportedly stopped him at the gate, but he scaled the fence and gained entry to Deborah’s apartment. Eyewitnesses said Lintex first tampered with the gas cylinder line outside the apartment, allegedly trying to cause an explosion. When that failed, he forced his way inside and stabbed Deborah multiple times with a knife he brought along. Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene and alerted the police. The suspect was subdued and handed over to law enforcement officers. Police authorities have confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing. Deborah’s tragic death has sparked outrage online and renewed calls for stronger legal protections for women against abusive and obsessive partners.
