Instagram Vendor Shaddash Hair in Trouble For Selling Fake Hair worth 190,000.00

A Lagos-based hair outlet, Shaddash Hair is set to face an impending lawsuit over an alleged defrauding, and delivery of Fake Hairs  to one of her customer, Adebisi Emi.

GoldenNewsNg gathered that Sade Adebanjo, CEO of Shaddash Hair has been accused of “uncouth behaviour,” negligence and deliberate actions of fraud by Emi, following her ordering of items put on display on Instagram.

Adebisi Emi narrated that she ordered for three original human hair extensions from Shaddash Hair on the 29th July, 2020 for the sum of One Hundred and Ninety Thousand Naira only (₦190,000.00).

Adebisi Emi narrated that she ordered for three original human hair extensions from Shaddash Hair on the 29th July, 2020 for the sum of One Hundred and Ninety Thousand Naira only (₦190,000.00).

According to Emi, two out of the three items she ordered for did cost her N105,000.00, with a third defective wig further costing her ₦85,000.00.

Trouble started when the items were not delivered on the expected delivery date earlier agreed upon by both parties.

“I reached out to Sade after returning from a trip to explain that my items were yet to arrive. From our calculations, they ought to have been delivered before I return from my journey,” Emi stated.

“I had paid Sade the sum of ₦20,000.00 against a supposed DHL delivery charge of less than ₦15,000.00. She responded unconcerned towards my complaint of the items taking longer than expected, stating it is not her duty to track delivery of items ordered for by clients.”

“My follow up attempts to see that the items got delivered was deliberately ignored by Sade as she kept banging calls against me. She totally went blank on me without taking my calls and neither did she display any concern if my items had gotten to me or not.’

“Her behavior was totally uncouth and caused me emotional trauma as I had to combine the stress of work with that of looking for the items myself,” she said.

Emi revealed she found out during her visit to DHL office that Sade had ‘carelessly’ shipped the items to an address different from the one she had supplied for delivery of the shipment.

Emi had thought the stress was over when she finally picked up the items, only to be heartbroken by a defective item when she unbundled her package.

“My heart was broken when I saw that the item was fake, substandard and totally different from the quality she had advertised on Instagram. I tried reaching out to Sade but she has played the blank game till today.”

Emi resorted to employing legal services to get Sade’s attention but was further greeted with silence as she was ignored by the hair outlet.

“I wanted to return the defective item and seek for a refund of the amount due. Her treatment left me with no choice than to conclude she may have deliberately defrauded me. I got my lawyer to send her explanations to her behaviour and there still has been no reply.”

Columbus O. Okaroh Esq, Emi’s lawyer had in a letter dated September 7th, 2020, issued a two weeks ultimatum to Sade with the following instructions;

“It is therefore, our instruction to demand from you within fourteen (14) days of the receipt of this our letter under reference, the followings: (1) The refund of the sum of N85,000.00 being the cost price for the defective/fraudulent wig; (2) £26.70p (Twenty-Six Pounds, Seventy Fence) cost of additional payment to DHL; (3) The sum of N500,000.00k (Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) as damage for Breach of contract, fraudulent misrepresentation and cost for unforeseen expenses cause by your negligence.

TAKE NOTE, that failure to respond favourable to this our letter under reference, we have our client’s instruction to take all legal steps to compel you and were possible institute an action against you for punitive damage.
FURTHER, TAKE NOTE, discretion is a better part of valour.”While the ultimatum was put on hold by the outbreak of the #EndSARS protests in the country, Emi is now set to take further legal action against Shaddash Hair.
