IRT Seeks Arrest Of Adedoyin’s Son Over Murder Of OAU Student

The Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of the Nigeria Police has alerted the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol), to assist in the arrest of Roheem Adedoyin, the prime suspect in the mysterious murder of Mr. Timothy Adegoke, a Master’s degree student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

It would be recalled that Adegoke, who until his death was the Director of Finance of Xiamien Stone Limited, Abuja, had travelled to Ile-Ife on Friday, November 5, 2021, to write his last examination.

According to investigation, he flew from Abuja to Akure, Ondo State, and later proceeded by road to Ile-Ife

GoldenNewsNg gathered that he lodged at Hilton Hotels and Resort where he died mysteriously and was subsequently buried in a nearby bush. It was also gathered that after the victim was allegedly murdered Roheem, who is the key suspect fled the country, after he was declared wanted in connection with the mysterious death of Adegoke. One of the suspects who is in police custody over the crime was said to have confessed that Roheem, who is the Managing Director of the hotel, organised and supervised how Adegoke’s corpse was evacuated from the facility and buried without informing the police. A credible police source also confirmed that Police detectives investigation is still ongoing to unravel the mysterious death of Adegoke, while more suspects would be arrested. According to the source: “Already, Police have contacted Interpol and Immigration to effect the arrest of one of the prime suspects who is the son of the owner of the hotel. The suspect is on the run, but we will surely arrest him and make him face justice.

“The IRT has interrogated all the suspects and met with the family of the deceased. The investigation is ongoing and we have gotten a remand order to keep the suspects in custody pending the conclusion of investigation in line with the Administration of Criminal Justice Law.”

The source added that the suspects would be charged to court, assuring the public that justice would be served.

“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba has directed that the matter must be investigated thoroughly and that is what the police is doing,” the source said. When contacted to verify the development, IRT Commander, DCP Tunji Disu declined to comment, saying the Force Public Relations Department would give an update on the case at the appropriate time.

Meanwhile, the IRT has rejected the second autopsy report presented to it by the doctors who conducted a post mortem on the exhumed body of the deceased.

The Police unit according to insider sources said that the report is not acceptable to the Police due to the fact that the family members of the deceased were not contacted during the conduct of the autopsy.

It would also be recalled that there were reports on Thursday that the office of the Inspector- General of Police IGP had received the autopsy report by the doctors who carried out the post mortem, but there is no formal communication to the IRT on it.

The Police detectives attached to the intelligence unit are still conducting investigations into the remote and proximate cause of the dastardly act and had vowed that no stone will be left unturned to apprehend the culprits.

Man Arrested After Disguising as Dispatch Rider to Murder Ex-Girlfriend in Lagos

Residents of a Lagos estate were left in shock on Thursday night after a young woman, Deborah Porsche, popularly known as Debporsche, was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend, identified simply as Lintex, nearly a year after their breakup. According to reports, Lintex had repeatedly threatened Deborah since their split in August 2024, allegedly vowing: “If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I no marry you, blood go flow.” Deborah’s sister described her as a hardworking interior decorator who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). She further alleged that the deceased endured emotional abuse throughout her relationship with Lintex, which ultimately pushed her to walk away. On the night of the attack, the suspect disguised himself as a dispatch rider in an attempt to infiltrate the estate. Security guards reportedly stopped him at the gate, but he scaled the fence and gained entry to Deborah’s apartment. Eyewitnesses said Lintex first tampered with the gas cylinder line outside the apartment, allegedly trying to cause an explosion. When that failed, he forced his way inside and stabbed Deborah multiple times with a knife he brought along. Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene and alerted the police. The suspect was subdued and handed over to law enforcement officers. Police authorities have confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing. Deborah’s tragic death has sparked outrage online and renewed calls for stronger legal protections for women against abusive and obsessive partners.
