Is CBN Still Collecting Old Naira Notes? Yes! As at the time of filling this report, the Central Bank of Nigeria is still accepting the old Naira note but you must first enroll it on the cash return portal provided for that purpose.
The CBN opened a cash return portal for people with old N500 and N1,000 notes to register how much they want to deposit and to get a reference code to confirm their registration.
The reference code will be used to deposit the old notes at any of the CBN offices across the country.
Further investigations by GoldenNewsNg Media revealed that Banks are also accepting the old Naira note of not more than 500k from an individual and must come with a code /form generated from the CBN cash return portal.

At what time can you go to the bank to deposit your old naira note ?
currently, the banks accept the old naira note, between the 10 am and 2 pm Monday to Saturday
