JAMB Names Universities Yet to Submit Post-UTME Scores of Under-Age Candidates
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released a list of universities that failed to upload the Post-UTME screening results of under-age candidates who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement issued by the Board, JAMB disclosed that as of the agreed deadline of September 15, 23 out of 71 universities chosen by under-age candidates had yet to submit their Post-UTME scores.
The delay, JAMB explained, came despite the reliance of universities on UTME, Post-UTME, and SSCE results in reaching admission decisions. The release of NECO’s SSCE results shortly after the September 15 deadline also prompted JAMB to extend the timeline for the assessment of the affected under-age candidates.
“The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), in collaboration with the representatives of the chosen universities of the under-age candidates who sat the 2025 UTME, has adjusted the final date for their scheduled assessment,” the Board announced, without disclosing the new date

Admission Deadlines
JAMB reminded all institutions of their obligations regarding admissions processing. Public universities must submit recommended candidates on CAPS by September 30, 2025, while private universities are expected to do so by October 31, 2025.
The Board emphasised that these deadlines are in line with the final admission timelines of October 30 for public universities and November 31 for private universities.
Minimum Age Rule
JAMB reaffirmed its 16-year minimum age requirement for entry into tertiary institutions, while noting that exceptional under-16 candidates may still be considered under its special framework.
This process, the Board explained, involves a rigorous, multi-stage screening system that assesses not only UTME and Post-UTME results but also SSCE performance and overall readiness.
