How JAMB ex-boss allegedly diverted N341.9m NECO fund, by witness

JAMB News On JAMB 2022 Today, JAMB Registration 2022 February 28th 2022

A witness with the National Examination Council (NECO), Dr. Jimoh Olatunde, has revealed how a former Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, allegedly diverted N341.9 million from NECO to set up a personal printing press, school and buildings.

The witness, who testified before the High Court of Niger State, Minna, told the trial judge, Justice Abdullahi Mikailu, that N216, 297.443 was deceitfully withdrawn from NECO account for payment for 17 fictitious printing contracts, which was in actual sense, used for establishing the printing press.

A prospective JAMB candidate from Government Science Secondary School Birnin-Gwari in Kaduna State was shot by terrorists in Kaduna State.

He, however, escaped with a bullet wound while on his way to register for JAMB – UMTE, exams in Kaduna.

Quickteller to Reward JAMB Candidates with Free Tutorials

Interswitch Group, the foremost pan-African digital payment and commerce company, is offering free tutorials to candidates that purchase JAMB ePINs for the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) examination on the Quickteller platform as part of its commitment to promote quality education in Nigeria.

The sale of the JAMB ePINs commenced on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

JAMB Registrar disagrees with FG on IPPIS, proliferation of varsities

The Registrar of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof Is-haq Oleyede has disagreed with the Federal Government over the adoption of the controversial Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) as a payment platform for university workers, saying the policy is totally unsuitable for the university system.

He also condemned the proliferation of universities, particularly the specialised ones in the country, saying the action is diversionary and counter-productive to an ideal university system.
