Goldennewsng are reporting that the Academic Staff Union on Friday had a meeting with the Federal Government and reports from the meeting looks like both parties have come to a consensus to end the over 8 months strike.
The decision by ASUU was followed by a meeting with the Federal Government team led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige in the capital city of Abuja.
The Federal Government agreed to settle the arrears of salaries of the lectures before 31st of December.

Remember that early this month, the Federal Government agreed to remove the IPPIS that it was earlier imposing on ASUU and taking the UTAS after proper checks.
ASUU is expected to report the agreement to its various organs and then communicate their decision to the government after which a date for Calling of the strike would be announced.
Reports say that the Academic Staff Union Of Universities has agreed to call off its 8 months old strike after the Federal Government offered to pay the lecturers N70 Billion.
