As part of efforts to give back to the society, Governorship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State, Hon. Isah Liman Kantigi has donated the sum of ten million naira (N10million) to his Alma Mater, Government College Bida, Niger State.
Kantigi made the donation on Monday when his classmates of 1981 set of the College paid him a courtesy and support visit in his Kantigi homestead in Edati Local Government Area.
It should be recalled that Government College Bida, Niger State was established and built in 1912 and has produced eminent Nigerians in various fields of endeavour.
Golden News Online gathered that the boarding secondary school for boys only which started as an elementary school later metamorphosed and upgraded to Provincial Secondary School, Bida and from 1966 to date, it has remained Government College, Bida.
While making the donation, Kantigi promised to improve on education and welfare of teachers when he is elected as Governor of Niger State in the next election.
According to him “I thank you all for coming and I assure you that education will be one of my topmost priorities. The issue of teachers welfare and conducive environment for students to learn will be taken seriously.
“For the College, I am donating ten million naira, two hundred mattresses and two hundred beddings for the comfort of our students.”
The overjoyed classmates while expressing their gratitude, assured him of their massive support and votes during the elections.
