Kayode Salako, who resigned from his position as chairman of the Labour Party in Lagos State, has spoken.
Goldennewsng reports that On Tuesday, Salako resigned as the state chairman of the party.
He claimed that he resigned in order to pursue his goal of running for the Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1 House of Representatives seat.
According to a Channels Television report, Salako made this disclosure on Wednesday, just hours after handing over the leadership of the party in Lagos to Dayo Ekong, a former deputy women leader in the state.
“We held our legal stakeholders’ meeting in Lagos yesterday (Tuesday),” he stated. Because I wanted to run for office, I gave Mrs. Dayo Ekong free rein to manage the party’s operations.
“I am the party’s candidate for the seat in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1 in the House of Representatives.” I have 40 days until the election, so I need to concentrate to face the challenges.
Dayo Ekong, a Labour Party chieftain, is the new chairperson of the party’s chapter in Lagos State.
