We are delighted to inform you that the management of Lagos State University (LASU) has extended an invitation to eligible candidates to register for the 2023 Supplementary Postgraduate Admission Form.

How to Apply for LASU Supplementary Postgraduate Admission Form

To apply for the LASU Supplementary Postgraduate Admission Form, please follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Application Fee:
    • Deposit a non-refundable application fee of N25,300.00 into the LASU online account.
  2. Entrance Examination:
    • All candidates are required to sit for the Entrance Examination, which will be held at the Main Campus in Ojo, Lagos.

List of Accredited LASU Supplementary Postgraduate Courses, Duration, and Requirements:

  1. FACULTY OF SCIENCE DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE MASTER OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY [MIT]Eligibility: Candidates who meet the following requirements are eligible to apply for the MIT program:
    • Five (5) credit passes in any discipline, including English Language and Mathematics.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or any related discipline.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline and a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science or any related discipline.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in any Business Management discipline (Second Class Lower Division) with a minimum of three (3) years of IT-related experience.
    • Higher National Diploma in any Computing, Electrical/Electronic discipline (Upper credit) with a minimum of three (3) years of IT-related experience.
    • Holders of professional certificates from recognized institutions/bodies such as CPN, ICAN, ANAN, CIBN, CIS, CITN, or similar/related certifications with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in conducting IT-related services.

    Duration:

    • Minimum of four (4) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters.
    • All candidates must have completed an introduction to Computer Science/Computer Appreciation/Computer Literacy or any Computer-related course at the undergraduate level.
  2. FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS PROFESSIONAL MASTER OF BUSINESS ECONOMICS [MBE]Eligibility: Candidates aspiring for the Professional Master Degree in Business Economics must have a minimum of:
    • Second Class Lower Division Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Industrial Relations & Human Resource Management, Marketing, Accounting, Public Administration, Insurance, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or any other related fields.
    • LASU Post-Graduate Diploma with a minimum cumulative weighted average of 50%.
    • Postgraduate Diplomas from other Universities with a CGPA of 3.50 and above on a scale of 5.0.
    • Third Class Honours Degree, along with a Postgraduate Diploma of 3.50 CGPA and above on a scale of 5.0.
    • Higher National Diploma (HND) plus Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in relevant fields.
    • Five (5) O’Level Credits in English language, Mathematics, Economics, and any other two (2) subjects.
    • Applicants with one (1) O’Level deficiency may be required to take additional undergraduate courses within Lagos State University to remedy it.

    Duration:

    • Minimum of two (2) semesters.
    • The program’s minimum duration is four (4) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters.
    • The program is a Professional Degree, and successful candidates with a minimum CGPA of 3.5 can progress to the Professional Doctorate Degree in Business Economics.

Requirements for Professional Doctorate Degree in Business Economics:

  • The examination will be conducted in accordance with the regulations of the Postgraduate School, Lagos State University, Ojo.
  • To be eligible for the award of the Masters of Business Economics (MBE), candidates must register and pass a minimum of 36 units, including a Dissertation (Project).
  • The average mark for the program is based on grade scores in all courses taken, including the Dissertation.
  • Examination grades are recorded as percentage marks.
  • All requirements stipulated by the regulations of the Postgraduate School must be fulfilled.

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIOLOGY POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN CRIMINOLOGY AND SECURITY STUDIES [PDCSS]

Admission Requirements:

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of Five O’Level Credit Passes, including the English Language.
  • Honours Bachelor’s Degree in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, Science, or any other relevant field with at least a Third Class Division.
  • Candidates with HND (lower credit) or a professional certificate in security management, law enforcement, international relations, strategic studies, or security studies can also apply.
  • Mature candidates of 30 years and above with less than Five (5) credits at the O’Level but with at least Ten (10) years of working experience in relevant organizations can be considered.
  • Such candidates may need to meet additional University admission requirements and take prescribed relevant internal undergraduate courses within Lagos State University.

DURATION:

The Master in Business Administration (MBA) program has a minimum duration of two (2) semesters.

  1. FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

Master in Business Administration (MBA) with Areas of Specialization:

  • Financial Management
  • Marketing Management
  • Human Resources Management
  • International Business Management
  • Production & Operations Management
  • Health Care Management
  • Oil, Gas, and Energy Management
  • Risk Management

Requirements:

  • Graduates of Lagos State University with a Degree recognized by the Senate, with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University with Third Class or Pass Degree, plus a Postgraduate Diploma.
  • Holders of Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, ACIS, ACIB, ACII, CIPM, or any other approved Professional qualification in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Insurance, Marketing, Engineering, and related disciplines.
  • HND with Upper Credit in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Insurance, Marketing, Engineering, and related disciplines, provided the candidate holds a Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant field.
  • All candidates must possess a minimum of Five (5) O’Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two (2) sittings.
  • A minimum of Three (3) years post-qualification and post-NYSC working experience in a reputable organization.

Duration:

The program has a minimum duration of four (4) semesters and a maximum of six (6) semesters.

Additional Information:

  • Candidates currently enrolled in other postgraduate programs or who have not completed their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) assignment are not eligible to apply.
  • Academic transcripts must be submitted within two (2) weeks after the conclusion of the form sale.
  • Requests for transfer of processed application forms from one department to another will not be accepted.
  • Candidates must personally appear for the selection process and written tests, as there will be no make-up exams.
  • All applicants must complete the online application forms and print copies of their e-Registration slips.

Residents of a Lagos estate were left in shock on Thursday night after a young woman, Deborah Porsche, popularly known as Debporsche, was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend, identified simply as Lintex, nearly a year after their breakup. According to reports, Lintex had repeatedly threatened Deborah since their split in August 2024, allegedly vowing: “If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I no marry you, blood go flow.” Deborah’s sister described her as a hardworking interior decorator who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). She further alleged that the deceased endured emotional abuse throughout her relationship with Lintex, which ultimately pushed her to walk away. On the night of the attack, the suspect disguised himself as a dispatch rider in an attempt to infiltrate the estate. Security guards reportedly stopped him at the gate, but he scaled the fence and gained entry to Deborah’s apartment. Eyewitnesses said Lintex first tampered with the gas cylinder line outside the apartment, allegedly trying to cause an explosion. When that failed, he forced his way inside and stabbed Deborah multiple times with a knife he brought along. Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene and alerted the police. The suspect was subdued and handed over to law enforcement officers. Police authorities have confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing. Deborah’s tragic death has sparked outrage online and renewed calls for stronger legal protections for women against abusive and obsessive partners.
