Former Osun state governorship candidate Lasun Yusuf has switched parties to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Goldennewsng reports that the At the party’s presidential campaign rally in Osogbo on Wednesday, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke made the announcement that Yusuf had switched to the PDP.
Atiku Abubakar, the PDP candidate for president, is among those who attended the rally; his running mate, Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa; Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel, the PDP presidential campaign council chairman,
In July, Yusuf, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, ran for governor alongside Adeleke.
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate for president in 2023, had supported Yusuf during his campaign for the election in July 2022.
Adeleke was also congratulated by Mr. Obi on his appointment as governor.
