In its weekly bulletin JAMB announced that the UTME exercise scheduled earlier for April 20 to 30, will be held from Friday, May 6 to Monday, May 16.

NABTEB Is No Longer Recognized For For Direct Entry – JAMB
The registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede disclosed this during the 2022 policy meeting which is currently holding at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.
“The Honorable minister of education has approved that the NABTEB A’level GCE will no longer be recognized as a qualification for DE from 2022. However, all those who have already obtained it prior to this date will be able to use it,” Oloyede said.
Speaking further at the policy meeting, Oloyede highlighted some of the challenges faced by the board in the conduct of the 2022 UTME/ DE examination.
He listed the challenges as follows; examination malpractices, impersonation and substitution of real candidates by paid examination takers, fraudulent CBT owners who sabotage examination, parents encouraging examination malpractices, mass cheating by syndicates, prolonged investigation and prosecution.
JAMB 2022 Approves Cut-off Marks For Universities, Polytechnics
Goldennewsng gathered reports showing that the decision was taken after a heated session comprising officials from JAMB, the Ministry of Education, the National Universities Commission, and the National Board for Technical Education among others.
For the polytechnics, 120 cut-off mark was approved while 140 was approved for universities.
JAMB Reveals Top Performers For 2022 UTME
Registrar of JAMB has disclosed that only 378,639 of the 1,761,338 who wrote the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations scored 200 and above. The Registrar made this known at the 2022 JAMB Policy meeting.
A total of 520,596 candidates scored 190 and above ; 704,991 scored 180 and above; 934,103 scored 170 and above; 1,192, 057 scored 160 and above.
He also disclosed that Adebayo Eyimofe an Ekiti State Indegene scored the highest mark in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination with a total of a total of 362 marks.
He was followed closely by Ugwu Chikelu, an indigene of Enugu state who also wrote his UTME in Abuja. Ugwu scored 359.
Other high scorers include Igbalaye Ebunoluwa 357; Emmanuel Oluwanifemi 357; Ozumba Samuel 357; Olumide-Attah Ayomide 355; Lawal Olaoluwa 355; Dokun Jubril 354; Amaku Anthony 354 and Aghulor Divine 353.
UTME: How JAMB Used NIN To Tackle Exam Malpractice – FG
Malam Adamu Adamu, the Minister of Education spoke on Thursday.
He revealed how JAMB succeeded in using NIN to reduce examination malpractice during the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
Adamu disclosed this during the 2022 policy meeting on admissions to tertiary institutions in Nigeria, held in Abuja.
According to Adamu, “The introduction of the mandatory National Identification Number (NIN) for JAMB registration has yielded humongous positive impact as a potent instrument in the fight against examination malpractices.
“The 2022 UTME was the best, so far, as there were minimal cases of examination malpractices owing to the collaboration and other technological interventions deployed by JAMB.
“The Ministry would continue to provide leadership support and encouragement to JAMB pursuant to its official mandates. I hereby urge other examination bodies to emulate JAMB in all these positive directions.”
Marks: JAMB Decides 2022 Admission Cut-Off Marks Thursday
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has said that tertiary institutions in Nigeria were unable to conduct the 2021 admissions within the time frame due to constraints imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This is as the board noted that it would meet with institutions and other agencies to determine the 2022 admissions cut-off, among others, on Thursday, July 21, 2022.
These were disclosed in the board’s weekly bulletin, which was made available to Goldennewsng Nigeria in Abuja on Monday.
The bulletin read, “The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has fixed Thursday, July 21, 2022, for the 2022 Policy Meeting and the third edition (2020) of the NATAP-M Awards.
“The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, would chair the policy meeting as well as serve as the chief host of the NATAP-M Awards Ceremony.
“The two events, which are scheduled to be held on the same day and place, will have in attendance heads of tertiary institutions, heads of regulatory agencies in the education sector, and other critical stakeholders such as Chairmen of the Committee on Education at the lower and upper chambers of the National Assembly.”
