Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, on Friday stated why he is agitating for the actualization of Biafra.
The IPOB leader noted that the convergence of the core value of the North, East and West hinders Nigeria from functioning as a nation.
Kanu while speaking with the publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu on an IPOB community radio, noted that bringing Nigerians together without paying attention to the core value system of these ethnic groups has effect on the development of Nigeria.
”So, these are the anomalies that Africans particularly educated Nigerians need to sit down to address. That’s why we have unrested development, that’s why nothing seems to be working because the convergence of these diverse core value system of Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo is making it impossible for Nigeria to function as a viable state.”
He further stated that he would not be agitating for sovereign state of Biafra if Nigeria was created by a Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa man.
“Nigeria was not constructed by a Yoruba man, if it were I would have accepted it, Nigeria was not created by a Fulani man, if that was the case who knows I might have accepted that, Nigeria was not created by an Hausa man either, Nigeria was created by a white man and named by a woman.”
“Nobody came from these ethnic groups, they never got together to say our name should be Nigeria. A white man determined that. I cannot get to England to say to the English people I want to rename Liverpool, I want to give it another name, I am sure they will think I am mentally ill or unstable and put me in jail.”
“Now the problem is why should Nigerians or Africans accept the name Nigeria, which does not mean anything in Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa language,” he stated.
Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Reveals Why Nigeria Cannot Work Successfully
The convergence of the diverse core value system of the North, West, and East is posing a serious obstacle for Nigeria to function as a viable state, Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has said.
GolenNewsNg reports that Kanu who doubles as the director of Radio Biafra said Nigeria cannot work successfully during in an Instagram live interview with the publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momudu on Thursday evening.
The IPOB leader argued that bringing Nigerians together without paying attention to the core value system of these ethnic groups was the bane of development and unrests in the country.
His words: “So, these are the anomalies that Africans particularly educated Nigerians need to sit down to address. That’s why we have unrested development, that’s why nothing seems to be working because the convergence of these diverse core value system of Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo is making it impossible for Nigeria to function as a viable state.”
Kanu stressed that he would not have been agitating for a sovereign state of Biafra if Nigeria was created by a Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa man.
“Nigeria was not constructed by a Yoruba man, if it were I would have accepted it, Nigeria was not created by a Fulani man if that was the case who knows I might have accepted that, Nigeria was not created by an Hausa man either, Nigeria was created by a white man and named by a woman.

I can not get to England to say to the English people I want to rename Liverpool, I want to give it another name, I am sure they will think I am mentally I’ll or unstable and put me to jail.
“Now the problem is why should Nigerians or Africans accept the name Nigeria, which does not mean anything in Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa language,” he stated.
Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Clarifies Relationship Between IPOB And #EndSARS Protests
Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has rejected narratives trying to paint him or the IPOB group as sponsors of the #EndSARS protests.
This is as he explained on Thursday that the #EndSARS protest is a spontaneous and justifiable reaction by Nigerians against all forms of injustice in the country.
GoldenNewsNg reports the #EndSARS protests started as a call on the government to end the controversial Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a unit of the Nigeria Police Force, but quickly metamorphosed into a call on the government to end all forms of police brutality and demand a better Nigeria.
Kanu stated that those trying to link him or the IPOB group as sponsors of the protest are only pushing a wrong and unpopular propaganda.
He wrote on Twitter: “I’ve noted the propaganda to demonize the IPOB/me as the triggers of the #EndSARS protest. Well, hear this: The protest is a spontaneous & justifiable reaction by #NigerianYouths who have had enough of a #Nigeria that thrives on INJUSTICE. But if you insist it’s #IPOB, so be it.”
Meanwhile, Kanu has said “it’s highly irresponsible and dangerous for Governor Wike to conclude without any investigations” that it was IPOB members that killed ‘security personnel’ at Oyigbo.
The IPOB leader, therefore, warned that if any pro-Biafra agitator “loses his life in these your antics”, the Rivers State governor ” held eternally responsible.”
Kanu tweeted: “It’s highly irresponsible & dangerous for @GovWike to conclude – without any investigations – that it’s #IPOB members that killed ‘security personnel’ at #Obigbo.
“Dear #LittleHitler, if any #Biafran loses his life in these your antics, you will be held eternally responsible,” the tweet added.
This he said in reaction to the decision of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to proscribe IPOB in the state and ordered security agents to deal with IPOB members found in the state.
Why I Will Never Defend IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu – Deji Adeyanju
A sociopolitical activist, Deji Adeyanju, has given reasons why he cannot support the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
In a post on his Twitter handle, Adeyanju accused the IPOB leader of fuelling attacks against policemen and their stations in Rivers State.
GoldenNewsNg reports that men of the Nigeria Police Force were killed, as many stations were burnt and arms carted away during the End SARS protest.
Speaking on the recent violence in Rivers, Adeyanju stated that Kanu had told his supporters to attack the police, and that he also asked them to burn down their stations.
“Nnamdi Kanu told his supporters to attack the police & burn down police stations. That’s the person you expect me to defend? Non-violent resistance always work.
“However, the security agents must stop extrajudicial killings of those alleged to have committed any crime. If anyone has committed any crime, arrest & charge them to court.
“Stop killing Nigerians in revenge missions,” he said.
Governor Wike also warned that any LG Chairman that allows IPOB to hold processions and hoist its flag within their jurisdiction in Rivers State, risk sack.Continue reading
Wike’s directive came after a clash between suspected IPOB members and security agents on Wednesday left two police officers killed. This was even as the IPOB members reportedly razed the Police Area Command, Obigbo, Afam Divisional Police Office, and a court, all in Oyigbo Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers. continue reading
The leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly has said no part of the state will be ceded to the Indigenous People of Biafra, adding that the state will do everything within the law to protect its land.
The House raised the alarm that IPOB was threatening the security of the state as it called on the Federal Government to be aware.
The Speaker of the House, Ikuiyi Awaji-Ibani, stated this when he appeared as a guest on a radio (93.7 Rhythm FM) programme in Port Harcourt on Saturday. The programme was monitored by our correspondent.
Awaji-Ibani said Biafra was not part of Rivers State and vice versa, noting that the state government would continue to protect the lives and property of the people.
He said, “The banning of the activities of IPOB by the Governor (Nyesom Wike) is a step in the right direction. Let me join the governor because I am in a sober mood to also commiserate with the families that lost their loved ones in the hands of wicked persons.
