Latest News on NELFUND Student Loan Disbursement Today, 5th April 2025

In the latest update on NELFUND student loan disbursements, the management of the Oyo State College of Nursing Sciences, Eleyele, has confirmed that 75 students from the institution have successfully benefitted from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) program. This announcement was made on Friday by the college’s provost, Gbonjubola Owolabi, during a meeting with the institution’s management staff held at the college premises in Ibadan, Oyo State.

Owolabi, in a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, revealed that the loan funds for the 75 students were received on Thursday, and the process had been completed seamlessly. “This is to inform the college that we received the loan funds for 75 students yesterday (Thursday),” she said.

The provost expressed her gratitude to NELFUND for the crucial support, saying, “78 students applied for the loan, and 75 of them have benefitted from this significant initiative. Our college is immensely grateful to NELFUND for this support, which has gone a long way in ensuring that students who genuinely need financial assistance can continue their education without hindrances.”

The NELFUND student loan program has been a critical lifeline for many students facing financial difficulties. In this case, the funds covered the full fees of approximately 96% of the students who applied, a remarkable achievement that underscores the effectiveness of the scheme. Owolabi further congratulated the 75 students who had been approved for the loan, acknowledging that the program’s primary goal is to ease the financial burdens of students and allow them to focus on their academic pursuits.

Additionally, Owolabi announced that the loan beneficiaries would soon be invited to a meeting for the proper documentation process, which will include students who applied for the 2025/2026 session.

The success of the NELFUND initiative has prompted a call for more students to take advantage of the program. The provost encouraged all eligible students to apply, emphasizing that NELFUND can significantly ease their financial struggles and allow them to complete their studies successfully.

This latest update on NELFUND disbursements serves as a reminder of the critical role of government-funded educational support programs in helping students achieve their academic goals. With 75 students now benefiting from this initiative, it is clear that NELFUND is making a significant impact on the educational landscape in Nigeria.
