Now, let’s rewind a bit and look at the rollercoaster that was 2023 for Npower beneficiaries:

  1. Throughout 2023, beneficiaries faced a tough time as several program activities were put on hold, especially the disbursement of stipends for the 9 months spanning from January to September.
  2. The year saw a change in government, leading to a subsequent change in the management of the Npower program.
  3. To address financial irregularities from the previous management, the new management suspended the Npower program temporarily in 2023.
  4. As part of the restructuring process, the Npower program underwent significant changes, including a name change to the Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme (RHJCP).
  5. The restructuring also involved the creation of a new agency, NSIPA, tasked with overseeing the affairs of the Npower program and other social investment programs.

Now, looking ahead to the expectations for the Npower program in 2024:

  1. The revamped Npower program, now called RHJCP, is set to kick off in full swing.
  2. Management aims to engage a whopping 1 million beneficiaries in 2024 and plans to extend this initiative to 5 million youths over the next 5 years. Get the detailed scoop here:  N-Power To Recruit 5 Million Youths Under Skill Up Nigeria Renew Hope.

Here’s the deal: the government plans to resume disbursement of NPower Stipends in January when everyone’s back to work after the holiday break  including bank staffs, NPower Officials etc. So, if you’re waiting on your NPower payment, it’s on the way, just a bit delayed.

Thanks for your patience, and here’s to a great start in the New Year! 🎉

Minister Edu Addresses Payment Delays on Politics Today

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Minister Edu clarified that the government, led by President Bola Tinubu, had temporarily paused N-Power payments upon assuming office to address lapses in the scheme. Beneficiaries, who faced delays in receiving several months’ salaries from the previous administration, have now started seeing funds deposited into their accounts.

Edu stated, “Presently, a payment for N-Power is ongoing; we were in the office yesterday up until the early hours of this morning, just to ensure that young people get monies that they have been owed from the last government.”

Assurance of N-Power 9-Month Stipend and Transition to RHJCP

Furthermore, Edu assured Nigerians that the payment of the NPower 9-month stipend would persist as the Ministry resumes work in January 2024. Once the debts owed to beneficiaries are settled, the government plans to continue the N-Power program, potentially transitioning it into the Renewed Hope Job Creation Program (RHJCP).

Renewed Hope for NPower Beneficiaries Nationwide

While speculations suggest payments might resume immediately after the Christmas celebration, the Ministry remains committed to resolving lapses in the scheme before proceeding further. This development brings renewed hope to N-Power beneficiaries nationwide as the Federal Government takes steps to address outstanding financial obligations and pave the way for the program’s continuity.

Federal Government Initiates Payment of 9-Month Backlog to N-Power Beneficiaries

The Federal Government has commenced the disbursement of long-awaited stipends to N-Power beneficiaries, covering a backlog of nine months. The payment process began on December 21, 2023, and beneficiaries are gradually receiving their outstanding stipends.

As beneficiaries report receiving alerts for the first month of the nine-month backlog, it indicates the start of the payment process. While the payments are coming in slowly, it brings relief to beneficiaries who have been awaiting their stipends for the period spanning January to September 2023.

FG Launches Renewed Hope Grants

The N-Power program, a social intervention initiative by the government, has been instrumental in providing employment opportunities and skills development to Nigerian youths. The disbursement of the backlog stipends is crucial, especially during a time when beneficiaries may be in need of financial support.

Beneficiaries are advised to stay updated on further developments and announcements regarding the payment process. The initiation of this payment aligns with the government’s efforts to fulfill its commitments to the N-Power program participants, supporting them during the transitional phase of the renewed Hope Agenda under the new administration.
