Labour Day, which is celebrated annually on May 1st in Nigeria, is a public holiday officially known as “International Workers’ Day”. It is a day set aside to celebrate the contributions of workers towards the growth and development of the country, and to promote their rights and welfare.

On this day, various events and activities are organized across the country to celebrate workers and their achievements. These events include parades, speeches, and cultural displays. It is also an opportunity for workers to raise awareness about their concerns and demands, and to advocate for improvements in their working conditions and benefits.

Labour Day is an important day for Nigerian workers, as it reminds them of their significance to the country’s economy and development. Therefore, as a volunteer with Npower, the efforts put in at the place of primary assignment are appreciated on this day.

Npower is a job creation and empowerment programme initiated by the Nigerian government to address youth unemployment and improve social development. The programme is divided into various categories, each targeting a specific group of beneficiaries.
