Latest NPower News Today 11 September 2023

What’s the Current State of the NPower Program?

The NPower Program, a vital lifeline for many Nigerians, is facing several challenges as of September 11, 2023. These challenges revolve around unpaid stipends and a change in administration. Under the previous minister’s tenure, various issues remained unresolved, such as the non-recruitment of new NPower beneficiaries and the non-disbursement of payments to existing beneficiaries for over eight months. This situation prompted the new minister, Betta Edu, to usher in changes within the NPower program and set her own course. Minister Edu has pledged to expedite payments once they successfully address the underlying issues, and a new round of NPower candidate recruitment is on the horizon.
