In today’s Npower news for June 2024, GoldennewNG will address some of your questions about the state of the N-Power program.
Recently, President Bola Tinubu lifted the embargo on the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program, highlighting his commitment to supporting vulnerable households.
However, the president did not mention the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) or N-Power, so the Npower program remains suspended.
Regarding the backlog payments owed to N-Power beneficiaries, it’s possible these could still be paid even if the program remains suspended, as they are debts owed to the beneficiaries. The final decision rests with Tinubu.
President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Youth Empowerment and Innovation agenda is progressing well with initiatives like the Three Million Technical Talent Initiative (3MTT) and the iDICe Programme to develop digital skills.
These efforts, along with the establishment of the National Job Centre and the National Talent Programme, aim to create employment opportunities.
Stay tuned for updates on new youth empowerment programs that you can take advantage of as they become available.
Finally, the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer Program is conducting NASSPS-SU Stepdown Training Orientation in various states to educate desk officers on new changes for better implementation and management of the program.
