How to Claim Unpaid Approved SASSA Covid-19 SRD Grant

If you are an applicant for the COVID-19 SRD Grant and your application has been approved for more than one month without any payment dates, you are advised to upload your personal bank details on the SRD website at https://srd.sassa.gov.za. Updating your bank details may help expedite the payment process.

Please note that SASSA is currently experiencing high application volumes, and many people submit multiple applications. This can cause delays as SASSA will only consider one application per individual. We kindly ask for your patience when using the system.

If your application was declined, you have the right to appeal for reconsideration on the DSD Independent Tribunal website at https://srd.dsd.gov.za.

The Department of Social Development tribunal is handling these appeals. If you have any queries, you can contact the Department of Social Development Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA) at the following:

Tel: 012 312 7727 Email: grantappeals@dsd.gov.za

If an applicant qualifies for assistance in a particular month, they will receive payment for that month. If they continue to meet the application criteria, they may also receive payment for the current month. Please note that the payment may not necessarily be a double payment or a lump sum, and it may be distributed over several days or weeks.

If your application has been approved for May and June but you haven’t received payment due to a closed bank account, you will need to update your banking details with an active account in your name, as advised by SASSA
