Federal universities are schools owned and funded by the Nigerian government. The government pays the teachers and provides money to run the school. These schools usually have lower school fees than private universities because the government helps students by paying part of the costs.

Why New Federal Universities Were Created

The Nigerian government decided to create new federal universities for many reasons. Some of the reasons include:

1. To give more students a chance to go to university.
2. To reduce the number of students in old federal universities.
3. To bring universities closer to students in different states.
4. To help improve education in Nigeria.
5. To provide more jobs for teachers and workers in the education sector.

Now, let’s look at the list of new federal universities in Nigeria.
