Sunday Dare in a tweet put out yesterday said. 👇
“This story is out of context. Misleading. A misrepresentation.The Ministry was given a bill. The Ministry did not accept. It will be detrimental to spend such an amount. And it can be better invested. That is what I said. This is not what they have reported”
He further tweeted;
“If we tell Nigerians we used N81m to cut grass, which is not even available, there will be an outcry. The funds are not really there for us and that is why we are partnering with private investors to bring back the key components of our infrastructure,”
The reply was important to clarify on an earlier report by a Newspaper outlet that the Ministry is spending 81 Million naira to clear the grasses at the MKO Abiola Stadium.
Goldennews report that the state of the MKO Abiola Stadium is in a dilapidated state.
The special Assistant to the Minister said that the report the Ministry using 81 million naira to cut grass is a blackmail at the minister and he is been stigmatized, he said a company asked for that amount but the Minister rebuffed outrightly that the amount is outrageous.
