NCS Sends CBT Pre-Test Links to Inspectorate and Customs Assistant Cadre Applicants
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has commenced the distribution of Computer-Based Test (CBT) pre-test links to shortlisted applicants under the Inspectorate Cadre and Customs Assistant Cadre (General Duty).
Applicants are advised to log in to their dashboards to confirm their batch details, test schedules, and access links.
Although the announcement has not yet appeared on the official NCS recruitment portal, a verified update on the NCS Updates Dashboard confirmed the commencement of the exercise.
The notification reads:
“Inspectorate Cadre and Customs Assistants can log in for their pre-test and write at any time from now. Pre-Test Link (For Inspectorate Cadre and Custom Assistants).”
Applicants are instructed to visit updates.customs.gov.ng and log in using their National Identification Number (NIN) to check their batch, date, and testing details.
The service noted that some candidates might see “Not Available” under their batch information. However, such cases are temporary, as batch updates are still ongoing. Many applicants have already received access and can proceed with their pre-test.
Test Requirements and Guidelines
Candidates are required to use laptops or desktop computers equipped with webcams, as mobile devices are not supported. A stable internet connection is strongly advised for a smooth testing experience.
The system includes facial verification at login, and participants must maintain a neutral facial expression under proper lighting. Any form of noise, excessive body movement, or suspicious activity may lead to automatic disqualification or disconnection from the test.
Clarification from NCS
The Customs Service clarified that the ongoing exercise is a pre-test, designed to help candidates familiarize themselves with the online testing platform ahead of the main Computer-Based Test (CBT).
A separate notification and link will be issued for the official CBT at a later date.
A screenshot of the dashboard notice has circulated among shortlisted applicants, confirming the authenticity of the pre-test update.
