In Sokoto State, the NDE has initiated the registration of unemployed individuals, which will take place from 17th April to 9th May 2023. The registration process covers all 23 local government areas of the state.
The supervision of this exercise was overseen by representatives from the HOD Planning Research and Statistics (PR&S) at NDE Headquarters in Abuja, namely Mallam Umar Aliyu. Additionally, a representative of the state coordinator, Mal. Suleiman Adamu Kangiwa, was also present.
The registration was conducted at the NDE office in Sokoto State and simultaneously across the 23 local government areas. To ensure efficiency and ease of access, the registration centers were further subdivided at the ward level to prevent overcrowding.
The supervision team, led by the state coordinator’s representative and the representative from the HOD PR&S Headquarters in Abuja, along with other supporting staff from the NDE Sokoto State office, visited various local government areas on the first day, including Sokoto South, Sokoto North, Wamakko, and Bodinga.
The supervision team was impressed by the level of preparedness, organization, and smooth running of the registration process.
During interviews, the participants expressed their gratitude to the NDE and the federal government for this wonderful initiative aimed at providing opportunities for unemployed individuals, especially the youth.
