Senator Shehu Sani has sent a piece of advice to the appropriate authorities concerning the rescue of the abducted students and staff of the Government Science College, Kagara of Rafi Local Government Area in Niger State.
Senator Sani has advised that the authorities should negotiate with the suspected bandits and secure the safe release of the victims. According to him, we need to learn mistakes from the other abduction cases of abduction such as, Chibok, Dapchi and Kankara.
Speaking on Channels Television on Thursday night, February 18. He stated that the armed forces shouldn’t employ the use of force to secure release because they also have to think of the safety of those that were abducted.
In his words;
“We have not learnt our lessons from Dapchi, Chibok, Kankara and now we are in Kagara. How we can get these boys out there is no other way than to receive the phone calls of those bandits who kidnapped them and negotiate the way these boys can safely return back home.
“Kidnappings or abductions and violence has been a daily issue… You can use whatever you want to use be it helicopter or operation Puff Adder or whatever operation you want to use against the bandits, but I think in the interest of the safety and for the lives of these boys, hold on with your bravado, with your helicopter and planes until these boys are safely negotiated out of danger.”
