The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed a total of ₦213,218,275.00 to 1,519 beneficiaries at Delta State University (DELSU), marking another milestone in its mission to expand access to higher education financing across Nigeria.

According to NELFUND, the intervention is part of its broader initiative to support tertiary institutions and empower students through targeted funding, thereby reducing financial barriers to learning.

In an official acknowledgement letter signed by the Registrar, Mrs. R.U. Ufiofio, the university confirmed receipt of the disbursement on June 13, 2025, noting that the support will greatly ease the financial pressures faced by students and their families.

“This intervention will significantly alleviate the financial burden on our students and their families, enabling them to focus on their academic pursuits,” the Registrar stated. “We commend NELFUND for its commitment to advancing accessible education in Nigeria. Once again, we express our profound gratitude and look forward to sustainable collaboration.”

Students across different faculties have also expressed appreciation for the initiative, with many highlighting that the loan support provides stability and confidence to pursue their studies without the constant worry of tuition or upkeep costs.

The latest disbursement adds to a growing list of universities that have benefited from NELFUND’s financial support in recent months, reinforcing the Fund’s role as a critical driver of educational inclusion and human capital development in Nigeria.

By ensuring that 1,519 students at DELSU can continue their academic journeys with reduced financial strain, NELFUND is not only meeting its mandate but also investing in the future of the nation’s workforce.
