Cumulative Statistics (Since Launch)

  • 696,888 total student registrations have been recorded to date.

  • 679,376 students have completed and submitted their applications for the student loan.

These figures represent a significant milestone in Nigeria’s commitment to supporting higher education financing, especially for students from underserved backgrounds.

Loan Disbursement Figures as of 14th July 2025

NELFUND has also provided a breakdown of its financial disbursements as of 14th July 2025, showing impactful support to both institutions and individual students.

Institutional Fees Paid:

  • ₦41,701,404,108.00 has been disbursed directly to 210 higher education institutions across the country. This ensures students’ tuition fees are covered and institutions are adequately funded.

 Upkeep Allowance Paid:

  • A total of ₦35,332,780,000.00 has been paid as living allowance to 396,252 students, enabling them to focus on their studies without the burden of daily financial struggles.

Total Loan Disbursed So Far:

  • ₦77,034,184,108.00 has been disbursed overall, reinforcing the government’s commitment to educational support and economic empowerment through student loan accessibility.

Observations

The upward trend in weekly registration and application numbers indicates that more students are becoming aware of and actively participating in the NELFUND program. With the total disbursement surpassing ₦77 billion, the government continues to deliver on its promise of educational inclusion through the Renewed Hope Agenda.

This comprehensive effort aligns with national goals to build a skilled, educated, and competitive youth population. The program doesn’t only provide financial relief—it opens doors to academic and professional opportunities that many would otherwise be unable to access.

Final Thoughts

NELFUND’s disbursement dashboard serves as a transparent and encouraging update on the strides being made in student loan financing in Nigeria. It reflects not just statistics but real stories of young Nigerians taking bold steps toward a better future through education.

As the initiative continues to expand, stakeholders, including students, parents, institutions, and policymakers, are urged to remain engaged and supportive, ensuring that no willing and qualified student is left behind due to financial constraints.
