The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is pleased to announce the commencement of applications for the 2024/2025 NDDC Post-Graduate Foreign Scholarships Programme.

This initiative aims to bolster Human Resource Development in the Niger Delta region by providing young Nigerians with the opportunity to pursue post-graduate studies abroad.

Overview

The NDDC’s Foreign Post Graduate Scholarship Programme is designed to equip young people with relevant training and skills to actively participate in the Federal Government’s local content program.

By offering scholarships in various professional disciplines, the program aims to empower Niger Delta youths to compete globally.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hail from the Niger Delta Region
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum classification of First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower Division from a recognized University
  • Be under 40 years old

Professional Disciplines

The scholarship is open to applicants with Bachelor’s Degrees in the following fields:

  • Agricultural Science
  • Engineering
  • Environmental Science
  • Geosciences
  • Information Technology
  • Medical Sciences
  • Law

Application Process

  1. Initial Application: Interested candidates must submit an online application via the Commission’s Website.
  2. Preliminary Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on criteria including WASSCE/NECO results, Undergraduate Degree classification, and Local Government Identification.
  3. Computer-Based Test: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a computer-based test conducted in Rivers State. A minimum score of 70% is required to proceed to the next stage.
  4. Further Shortlisting: Candidates who pass the test will undergo further shortlisting.
  5. Final Verification: Final verification will be conducted through the Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC).

Scholarship Details

  • The scholarship amount will be based on the prevailing exchange rate of the Naira.
