As plans to the 2023 Governorship elections get underway, the People’s Democratic Party Campaign Council, Niger State has on Monday asked Governor Abubakar Sani Bello not to waste funds on any failed campaigns of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the party is a sinking ship

The PDP also advised the Governor Sani Bello led ruling APC to just prepare to handover as the People’s Democratic Party has taken over the state and just waiting for May 29th, 2023 for the Inauguration of Alhaji Isah Liman Kantigi as the Executive Governor of the State.

The Director Communications,
PDP Campaign Council, Niger State Usman Mohammad Yahaya (aka Sai Baba) while speaking to our Correspondent on Monday in Minna asked the Governor to note the mass exodus of APC members into the PDP.

This is as the PDP hinted that, they are aware that Governor Sani Bello is planning to go on a Seven Months leave.

Isah Liman Kantigi

According to Usman “it is now rush hour, Governor Sani Bello ought to know by now that the APC in Niger state is on life support, gasping for breath with the current mass exodus of members to the PDP.

“Recently, Hon. Ibrahim Ebbo a former Representative for Agaie/Lapai and an Adviser to the Government, Hon. Ado Tafa a former Reps member dumped the APC with thousands of their supporters to the PDP.

“Others who dumped the APC to join the PDP are Alhaji Aliyu Mohammed Abba (Dan Abba) former chairman of Agwara LGA and a one time senatorial candidate for Niger North, Hon. Abdulkadir Wali, a former State Assembly Aspirant for Lapai Local Government”.

Usman added that,”currently, 35 prominent Nigerilites, public officers, former and present legislators, Businessmen: have all indicated interest in joining and working for the PDP”.

According to him “the planned Seven month leave is to enable him (Sani Bello) avoid the impending defeat of the APC at the polls in 2023; as such we call on him to kindly prepare to handover and ensure that he doesn’t waste any funds on APC sinking ship.

“The mass turnout across the state at PDP rallies and the poor attendance of all APC gatherings in the state is a pointer to what to expect at the polls, after the APC has mismanaged the state for the past 8 years.

“We wish Governor Sani Bello a peaceful exit and retirement, we invite all APC candidates and their followers to immediately collapse into the PDP to work together for the development of Niger state, just like the PDP campaign slogan goes “Together We KAN”.
