General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, a former military president has expressed optimism that the security threats the country is facing will be settled.
Gen. Babangida has said that the current security threats are something that can be become a thing of the past. According to him, this is not the first time the country is going through a problem.
In an interview with Channels Television, IBB states that dealing with the violence and abductions from bandits, kidnappers and terrorists will take a lot of planning but it is achievable. He added that the citizenry needs to join hands with the government in order to achieve this.
In his words;
“I think is a case of concern. We are very much concerned about what is happening. The government and the citizenry must come together to be able to overcome this problem.
Speaking in on those that were abducted by bandits from the Government Science College, Kagara in Niger state, IBB said that the safety of the victims of paramount at the moment.
“The safety of the children is what is important the most. We want them to come out safely without anybody being hurt in the process. So, any measure they take is perfectly okay.
“In the long turn it requires a lot of thinking, it’s something that can be done. This is not the first problem that we ever went though. It can be overcome.”
