Following the Nigeria Customs Service Recruitment update, NCS has warned against the Fake CBT Shortlist Circulating Online

GoldenNewsNg reports that the Nigeria Customs Service Recruitment process has been targeted by fraudsters spreading a fake press release across social media and messaging platforms. The fraudulent message claims that a Computer-Based Test (CBT) is scheduled for July 2025, misleading many applicants hoping to be shortlisted.

No Official CBT Shortlist for Nigeria Customs Service Recruitment

In a firm statement issued by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the agency categorically disowned the widely circulated document, emphasizing that it did not emanate from the NCS. There is no scheduled CBT for July 2025, and any claims to the contrary should be disregarded.

According to the NCS, a close review of the fake announcement revealed:

  • Incorrect formatting and layout

  • Fake e-signature

  • A disconnected and faulty recruitment timeline

These red flags, the Service noted, are clear indications that the release is not legitimate and should not be trusted.

Public Urged to Verify All Nigeria Customs Service Recruitment Updates

The NCS acknowledges the interest of Nigerians in the ongoing Nigeria Customs Service recruitment but urges the public to rely only on official communication channels for updates. These include:

  • The official NCS website

  • Verified NCS social media platforms

  • Recognized national newspapers

The agency is already taking legal steps to identify the source of the misinformation and has vowed to take appropriate action against the perpetrators.

NCS Reaffirms Commitment to Transparent Recruitment

The Nigeria Customs Service reaffirmed its commitment to transparent recruitment processes and protecting applicants from scams and misinformation. When the Service is ready to move to the next phase of the recruitment exercise, a formal and verified announcement will be made through the proper channels.

The NCS also expressed appreciation to vigilant Nigerians who reported the fake release and encouraged the public to continue verifying all information before acting on it.
