The Nigeria Police has warned Labour Union that it will enforce the law in respect to the planned strike action by the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC and Trade Union Congress TUC on Monday Sept 28 over the recent hike in fuel and electricity tariff.
The leadership of the Union have insisted on carrying out the said action despite two court injunctions restraining them from doing so.court injunctions restraining them from doing so.
The Union stated that they are yet to receive any court order to that effect, and that the only way the planned strike action would be shelved, is if the government reversed the hike.
The Nigeria Police on their part, said they would be guided by the position of the law on the matter.
DCP Frank Mba, a force spokesperson said, “What does the law say in this circumstance? We would enforce the law, that is the only thing I can say for now.”
