Nnamdi Kanu may remain In detention as Judges begin Vacation.
GoldenNewsNg report that the hope of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to leave the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS soon may be delayed as judges of the Federal High Court begin their 2021 vacation on July 26.
Following the rearrest of the IPOB leader, the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, presided by Justice Binta Nyako had slated July 26 and 27 for continuous hearing on his case after the fugitive jumped bail in 2017.
But in a circular on Monday by the Chief Information Officer of the Federal High Court, Catherine Christopher, the Federal High Court noted that the Judges would embark on vacation on July 26.
The vacation is expected to last till September 17, 2021.
It reads in part, “Pursuant to the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4 (d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Honorable Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, announces to Hon. Judges, stakeholders and the general public, that the Federal High Court will proceed on its Annual Vacation for the Year 2021 from Monday the 26th day of July, 2021 to Friday the 17th September, 2021”.
