The call did not end at that, their kids are also calling for the payment of their father’s unpaid stipends as it also affects them. A picture of a little girl carrying a playing card with the inscription “Dr. Betta Edu please pay our father” is trending online.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has appointed Delu Bulus Yakubu as the pioneer national coordinator and chief executive officer (CEO) of the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) and she will be seeing the Affairs of the NSIP Programmes.

Furthermore, the Npower self-service portal is now functioning properly. Beneficiaries who are finding it difficult to validate their account can do so as the validation link is now functioning.

5 Things That Might Happen When Npower Program Is Rejigged

  1. Transition of Batch B Beneficiaries: Since the current set of the Npower beneficiaries’ terms will come to an end by October 2023, the new Npower Management might exit batch B and clear their outstanding stipend payment.
  2. Recruitment of New Batch: The New Npower management might begin with recruiting a new batch of 2023 Npower volunteers, opening up opportunities for fresh applicants.
  3. Review of Stipend Payments: The stipend payment for the Npower beneficiaries might be reviewed upward or downward to engage more Beneficiaries, aligning with the government’s objectives.
  4. Oversight by NSIPA: The agency under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation that will be overseeing the Affairs of the Npower programme and other NSIP Programme is the National Social Investment Programme Agency NSIPA managed by Mrs. Bulus.
  5. Focus on Digital Economy: Since the new Administration is focusing on creating jobs through the digital economy, the Npower management might try to engage more Npower beneficiaries in that path, offering training and opportunities in digital-related fields.

At this stage, the Npower beneficiaries are advised to be patient as the Ministry is rejiggering the programs under NSIP which Npower belongs. Payment might also be reviewed upward or downward to include more people in the programs.

As regards Nexit Opportunity, there are rumors that new information will soon be given, including the submission of business plans by those who did not undergo training.
