NPower Beneficiaries Give FG 30 Days to Pay Stipends or Face Massive Protest for one Month
NPower Beneficiaries Issue 30-Day Ultimatum Over Unpaid Stipends
NPower beneficiaries, under the umbrella of the National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries (NANB), have formally written to the Federal Government demanding the immediate payment of their long-overdue stipends.
In a letter dated September 1, 2025 and addressed to the Ministers of Humanitarian Affairs and Finance, the group warned that they would embark on a nationwide peaceful demonstration and resume suspended court proceedings if the matter is not resolved within 30 days.
The letter, titled “30 Days Notice of Peaceful Protest and Resumption of Court Proceedings Over Non-Payment of N-Power Stipends,” reminded the government that legal action was put on hold in July 2025 following the intervention of the Deputy Senate President. However, beneficiaries said two months have passed with no significant progress or official communication.
According to NANB, the prolonged delay has caused untold hardship for thousands of young Nigerians who rely on the programme for survival. The association has now resolved to resume legal action by October 2, 2025, if stipends are not paid within September.
Copies of the demand notice were also sent to the Attorney General of the Federation and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for record purposes. NANB urged all NPower beneficiaries nationwide to share the notice widely in preparation for next steps.
