NPower Initiates Backlog Payment for Batch C Beneficiaries

Exciting news has emerged for some beneficiaries of the NPower program, specifically those in Batch C, as they have reported receiving their long-awaited backlog payments. These beneficiaries have shared their positive experiences after successfully validating their accounts, as they are now being compensated for the stipends owed to them for the months of October, November, and December.

This development brings relief and joy to the recipients who have patiently awaited the disbursement of their outstanding stipends. By taking the necessary steps to validate their accounts, these beneficiaries have paved the way for the smooth processing and release of their overdue payments.

NPower Makes New Announcement About Payment of Stipends

The National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) has issued a recent communication to Npower C beneficiaries, stating that although payments are yet to be approved, they assure that once approved, they will be initiated promptly. NASIMS serves as the central management platform for the administration and coordination of Social Investment Programmes (SIPs), including the renowned N-Power scheme.

In FCT, Abuja, the federal government of Nigeria, acting through NASIMS, announced on Monday, June 19, that payments for N-Power batch C beneficiaries are still awaiting approval. NASIMS emphasized that as soon as the payments receive approval, they will be promptly initiated. The official statement from NASIMS was shared on their Facebook page and reads as follows:

“Npower C Beneficiaries,

Payments are yet to be approved. Once approved, payment will be initiated without further delay. Thank you.”

About the N-Power scheme:

Established in 2016, the N-Power scheme was designed to provide unemployed graduates with monthly stipends of N30,000 as engagement by the government. The scheme aimed to address youth unemployment and contribute to social development, as reported by The Sun Newspapers.

During the commencement of Batch C of the N-Power program in Abuja, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, stated that 500,000 applicants would be enrolled, according to This Day.

Since its inception in June 2016, successful applicants were employed in various categories such as N-teach, N-health, N-agro, and N-build, for a duration of two years. Unfortunately, after the completion of their tenure, many beneficiaries found themselves without sustainable means of support.

Currently, the N-Power scheme is in its batch C phase, with Stream 1 beneficiaries having completed their engagement, while Stream 2 beneficiaries are currently active.

N-Power: Official Confirmation of Backlog Payments and Important Message to Beneficiaries

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the federal government, through NASIMS, officially confirmed the processing of backlog payments for all eligible N-Power beneficiaries. NASIMS stated that the backlog payments are being processed gradually and in a step-by-step manner.

NPower Payment Update: Pending Stipends and Assurances

Despite the approval of all outstanding stipends owed to beneficiaries of the National Social Investment Program (NSIP) before the previous administration concluded its tenure, there have been reports of certain NPower beneficiaries not receiving their monthly payments for a period of eight months. Understandably, this situation has led to concerns among recipients who are inquiring about their unpaid stipends. Furthermore, there are suggestions that the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, who was responsible for overseeing the NPower and other NSIP programs, has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to provide an account of her management of ministry operations during her tenure.

Notwithstanding these developments, it is important to note that NPower has a track record of ensuring that beneficiaries receive their prorated stipends in due course. While there may be a delay in the payment of outstanding stipends, we remain confident that the necessary arrangements will be made to address this issue in the near future.
