NASIMS Continues Disbursing Payment of Outstanding Stipends

Following NPower’s latest News Today topic:  we are glad to announce that the Npower management board has continued to pay Npower Beneficiaries their stipend of 30k.

If you haven’t completed the validation process yet, we strongly encourage you to do so. In case you encounter any difficulties, consider visiting a nearby cafe for assistance. However, if you are able to complete the validation process, we recommend doing it directly on your phone.

Exciting news for Npower beneficiaries in today’s update!

The National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) has followed through on their promise and started disbursing outstanding stipend payments to Batch C1 and C2 beneficiaries.

NASIMS had previously announced that their technical team was working tirelessly to ensure that all outstanding stipends would be fully paid by the end of this month, June 2023.

Many beneficiaries who had validated their account information but hadn’t received their stipends can now rejoice, as they have confirmed the receipt of their payments on June 21st, 2023.

Additionally, a significant number of newly pre-selected Batch C2 beneficiaries, who diligently followed NASIMS’ instructions and validated their account information, have also reported receiving their stipends on the same day.

To provide some context, NASIMS recently pre-selected and engaged over 200,000 new Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries. This step was taken to augment the required number of beneficiaries in the Batch C2 Npower Program, as the initial selection fell short of the target of 490,000 beneficiaries.

It’s important to note that these newly pre-selected beneficiaries were chosen from the Npower Batch C applicants who had applied through the NASIMS Portal in 2020.

NASIMS encourages beneficiaries, particularly the new Batch C2 beneficiaries, who haven’t yet validated their information, to do so using the Npower validation portal link at validation.nasims.ng. This step is necessary to ensure their inclusion in the next phase of stipend payments before the end of June 2023.

As of today, June 23rd, 2023, stipend payments have commenced for beneficiaries who have confirmed their status and validated their account information. Payments will continue throughout the month until completion.

Which Month’s stipend is currently being disbursed?

The stipends currently being disbursed are for October, November, and December 2022. This applies to Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries who hadn’t received their payments but have validated their account information.

Likewise, recently preselected Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries who have successfully updated their status and validated their account information are also receiving stipends for October, November, and December 2022.

Another ongoing payment is for the outstanding stipends of September, October, and November 2022 for Batch C1 Npower beneficiaries who hadn’t received the act of benevolence approved by Minister Farouq.

Regarding stipend payments for January, February, March, April, and May 2023, they have not commenced yet. Payment for these months will only begin after all outstanding stipends have been fully paid to all Batch C2 beneficiaries, including the newly preselected ones. NASIMS aims to bring all Batch C2 beneficiaries to the same payment level before initiating these payments. This ensures uniformity, and all Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries will receive their stipends simultaneously.

Please disregard any news claiming that January, February, March, April, and May 2023 stipends are currently being paid. All beneficiaries are advised to remain patient as payment is ongoing and will continue until the end of June 2023.

NPower Stipend Payment Update Today

NASIMS, the National Social Investment Management System, has denied the rumors circulating on social media that the payment of Npower stipends has been suspended due to a change in administration.

A message titled “SUSPENSION IN PAYMENT OF STIPENDS” has been circulating, causing mischief and stating the following:

“Dear N-Power Batch C (Streams 1 And 2) Beneficiaries, We have received thousands of messages in the past few weeks regarding the suspension in payment of outstanding stipends. We acknowledge your grievances, that you are being owed for the months of December to May.

“We wish to inform you that there was a change in the administration, which partially affected the program. However, there are plans to continue with the payment process, in the new administration’s budget.

“We hereby restate our commitment to this program, and we reassure you that every beneficiary will be settled in due time. We urge you to remain patient, while we put things in order. Apologies for the inconveniences. Thanks”

However, NASIMS has categorically dismissed this rumor as false and has affirmed that the payment of outstanding stipends, which was recently restarted, is currently ongoing.

According to NASIMS, “Payment of Batch C2 October, November, and December stipends has been initiated and is still ongoing. There may be occasional challenges with the bank network, so we kindly ask for your patience while waiting for the payment to be processed.”

It should be noted that NASIMS began another round of stipend payments to Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries, including the newly engaged Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries, on Tuesday. This initiative aims to ensure that all beneficiaries are paid in full and brought up to date, addressing payment challenges and preventing further backlogs or outstanding payments.

However, NASIMS clarified that the outstanding stipends for Batch C1 from September, October, and November have not been restarted yet.

NASIMS explained that after the October, November, and December stipends are paid to Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries, including the newly engaged 200,000 Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries, the outstanding stipends for Batch C1 will be restarted.

The management of Npower emphasized that their main priority is to ensure that all Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries are paid in full before the end of June 2023.

There is a new update that Npower management is enrolling more preselected Npower applicants by inviting them for account validation. If you missed this update, read the details here.
While this is ongoing, 8 monthly payments of some Npower beneficiaries are yet to be paid even after the approval of the payment of outstanding stipends of all the NSIP beneficiaries was given before the last Administration left office.

A situation that is causing beneficiaries to ask questions regarding their unpaid outstanding stipends.

There is also a rumor that the former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs in charge of the Npower and other NSIP programs was invited by the EFCC to give an account of how she managed the activities of the Ministry while in service.
That notwithstanding, we believe that Npower always finds a way to pay its beneficiaries their delayed stipends. It might only be delayed but we believe that beneficiaries outstanding stipends will be paid soon.

It is important that as a Npower beneficiary, it is advisable to also search for other opportunities, that is why we created a Npower discussion group to share other opportunities that you can take advantage of. The Npower program is not a permanent job but a job employable and entrepreneurship empowerment program. As such, it is important to search for other jobs.
